Shopify guide
In this section we'll take you through how to work with the Shopify data source and how you can customize your widgets to get your most important metrics on your dashboard
Add a widget and select Shopify from the data sources list. Preview our list of pre-built widgets, select one and then connect to Shopify.
Take the URL from your Shopify store, if in doubt check the URL visible in the address bar when you’re logged in to your Shopify account. You’ll need to include anything before .myshopify.com - highlighted below.
If you have multiple stores within Shopify, you can pull data from each of these together into your dashboard and see everything in one place.
To connect another store to Geckoboard
As well as the preconfigured options you’ll see when you go to add a new Shopify widget, there are many ways you can adapt your data so it shows exactly what you’re looking for.
Change store, the metric you’re tracking, the visualization type, apply a different time frame, and add filters to break out specific data such as billing city, discount code, order tag, order referring site and more.
See the video below for a quick overview of ways to customize your Shopify widgets.
Comparing data to a previous time period
If you want to see how your store is performing compared to a previous period in time, the comparison visualization feature is very useful. See how to apply this in the video below.
Highlighting order presentment currency performance
If your store operates in multiple currencies, showcase how well each is performing by bringing them together into a widget. They’ll all be reported in your default currency so you’ll be able to see how each currency is performing as a whole.
Ecommerce conversion rate
To share your Ecommerce Conversion Rate you’ll actually need to pull data from Google Analytics rather than Shopify as this is where the information lives. To connect your Google Analytics account, take a look at the data source guide.
To share Ecommerce Conversion Rate follow these steps
It’s worth noting that by adding Ecommerce Conversion Rate as discussed above, the results may differ from what you see within Shopify. This is because this data is refreshed within Google Analytics more regularly than it is within Shopify.
